Eel Stroke

The eel stroke is related to the crawl; however both legs are not in conflict and both make jerky sideway motions. Motion of arms start sideways, and legs merely follow along waves thus created. This style is recommended to individuals with a physical handicap which would forbid movement of the legs as in the crawl. It is thus possible to swim even if one suffers from polio or in the case of an amputated leg.
